The Main Highlights and Key Players of Premier Padel 2025

The 2025 Premier Padel season promises to be one of the most exciting ever, thanks to a mix of new developments, including changes among the competing pairs. The circuit will feature the world’s top padel champions, but with a series of new partnerships that could shake up the established rankings. Only the pairs currently at the top of the rankings— Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, and Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto —have decided to continue playing together, while all the others have chosen new partners.

The biggest changes involve the third-ranked pair, Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk. This partnership is one of the most intriguing aspects of the new season: Lebrón will return to playing on the right, while Stupaczuk will bring all his explosiveness to the court. Both coming off a 2024 season that fell short of expectations, they will join forces with the goal of challenging the top-ranked pair.

The top 4 will also include Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto; both players have shown significant improvement in recent years, Yanguas in particular in 2024. Their ability to build plays and adapt quickly could make them a pair to watch in the early tournaments of the season.
Right behind them are two other new pairings: Martin Di Nenno and Javi Garrido, and Jon Sanz and Momo Gonzalez.
Among the veterans aiming for a comeback season, Paquito Navarro stands out. Coming off a 2024 season without any titles or finals, he has chosen Brazilian Lucas Bergamini as his partner.

Teo ZapataAmong the up-and-coming teams are Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger, two young talents who made tremendous strides in 2024 and have the potential to challenge the more established pairs—especially if they can improve tactically. We also can’t fail to mention Juan Tello and Tino Libaak, who could be one of next season’s breakout pairs.

Among the players participating in the 2025 edition of Premier Padel will be the two ambassadors for Padel Mi Amor: Teo Zapata and Víctor Ruiz, who have collaborated with the brand to create a limited-edition line of jerseys —the Teo Zapata Competition jersey and the Víctor Ruiz Competition jersey, both available in various colors—which are authentic replicas of the jerseys they wear during Premier Padel competitions.

Teo Zapata, ranked No. 35 in the world and known for his consistency and strategic approach on the court, will be joined by Enrique Goenaga, a rising star of Spanish padel. Zapata, a reliable player skilled at controlling the pace of the game, brings years of professional experience to the table. Goenaga, on the other hand, represents the new generation but has already demonstrated the potential to make his mark, even in major tournaments.

Víctor Ruiz, currently ranked 34th in the world, is joining forces with Francisco Manuel Gil—nicknamed Xisco Gil, currently ranked 53rd—to embark on a new phase of his career. Ruiz, a native of Cartagena, is known for his powerful and dynamic style of play, while Gil, an experienced and methodical player, brings excellent tactical skills to the duo. Both are looking to relaunch their careers with this new partnership: their complementary styles on the court could transform them into a pair capable of surprising even the top-ranked champions.
The last two pairs in the top 16 have yet to be confirmed.

Men’s Winter Padel Clothing: Buying Tips

Discover the must-have gear for playing padel that combines style, comfort, and performance—even in winter

Choosing the right winter padel clothing is essential to ensure your comfort, performance, and protection while playing. In indoor facilities, where temperatures are ideally around 16° , it’s still important to wear appropriate clothing to keep your body warm at the start of the match and promote proper thermoregulation during physical activity. For outdoor matches, however, clothing must have specific features: thermal insulation to protect against the cold, breathability to prevent sweat buildup, and resistance to the elements, such as wind and humidity.

The breathability and elasticity of fabrics are essential qualities: padel is a dynamic sport that requires quick bursts of speed, changes of direction, and fluid movements, and wearing clothing that is too heavy or too tight could hinder performance.
Of course, every player has different needs, which depend on their sensitivity to the cold, the intensity of their play, and the specific conditions of their playing environment. That’s why it’s crucial to carefully choose your winter padel apparel, opting for pieces that combine lightness, protection, and versatility, whether you’re playing outdoors or on an indoor court.

In this article, we’ll share some helpful tips for choosing the right winter padel apparel so you can give your best in every match, even during the coldest months.

Winter Padel Clothing: What Features Should It Have?

As we’ve seen, winter padel apparel must combine comfort and protection to ensure good performance and maximum freedom of movement on the court. One of the first features to consider is thermal insulation: clothing must retain body heat and prevent muscles from cooling down, especially at the start of play or during breaks. However, insulation must be balanced with breathable fabrics to prevent sweat buildup.

Another important factor to consider when choosing winter padel apparel is the lightness of the materials. Wearing clothes that are too heavy or bulky can restrict movement and negatively impact performance. Fabrics should be breathable and stretchy, and fit the body without restricting movement. This is particularly important for pants and shirts, which must ensure maximum freedom of movement during sprints and lateral shifts.
When it comes to materials, technical fabrics are the best choice for winter padel apparel. Polyester, often used in combination with spandex, is perfect for ensuring good elasticity and quick-drying properties because it is breathable and durable, making it ideal for keeping the skin cool and dry. Cotton, on the other hand, should be avoided at all costs, as it tends to absorb sweat and trap moisture, increasing the risk of getting chilled.

In any case, be sure to choose clothing made from high-quality technical materials with a comfortable, adjustable fit: this will improve your comfort and performance on the court, helping you play every winter padel match to the best of your ability.

4 Must-Have Men’s Padel Outfits for Your Winter Workouts

To best prepare for winter games and practices, the first tip is to dress in “layers.” This way, you can regulate your body temperature according to the different phases of the game—from warm-ups to breaks—by adding or removing layers depending on your needs, the weather conditions, and the intensity of the training session.
Among the items that should definitely be part of any padel player’s winter wardrobe are:

  1. Padel sweatshirts are essential for keeping you warm before or after matches or during outdoor training sessions in winter and during the transitional seasons. Be sure to choose a padel sweatshirt made from fabrics that are warm yet lightweight and breathable, and that ensure good freedom of movement on the court—just like all the models offered by Padel Mi Amor. Zip-up sweatshirts are ideal for easily adjusting ventilation during play. Elastic cuffs and a relaxed fit are also important features for ensuring a high level of comfort and not hindering the quick, dynamic movements required by padel. Whether you choose a style with or without a zipper, make sure the sweatshirt is comfortable and easy to put on or take off as needed;
  2. Short-sleeved padel shirts: The layer closest to the skin should be lightweight, breathable, and able to keep the body dry. Technical polo shirts or T-shirts made from materials like polyester blended with elastane or spandex—such as the Nick or Jack shirts from Padel Mi Amor—are perfect for quickly absorbing and wicking away sweat, ensuring constant comfort. Their elasticity allows them to move with your body without feeling too tight;
  3. Long pants, ideal for the early stages of training or for outdoor matches, and essential for keeping your leg muscles warm. The best styles are made from soft, breathable, and stretchy fabrics that ensure freedom of movement and a fit that adapts to different body types, such as the Padel Mi Amor long pants with an elastic waistband, which are ideal for wearing with a T-shirt or pairing with the matching zip-up sweatshirt;
  4. Padel shorts: Even in winter, shorts remain an essential item for the most intense phases of training or for indoor matches. Technical models, made with lightweight and breathable materials, allow for complete freedom of movement—essential for the quick sprints and changes of direction typical of padel. Wearing them over thermal leggings can be an excellent option for those who want to combine protection from the cold with maximum mobility during indoor or outdoor training sessions. Shorts with side pockets —such as the Vick shorts by Padel Mi Amor—are the most practical and functional because they allow you to keep balls or small personal accessories within easy reach at all times.
