All the details on the Premier Padel Roma 2024 schedule and how to watch it live, online, and on TV

One of the most anticipated events on the official Premier Padel professional world tour returns to Rome. From June 15 to 23, 2024, the Foro Italico will host the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, one of the four most important tournaments on the world tour alongside Doha, Paris, and Acapulco. This year’s edition will be played on nine courts, including the Center Court, for a total of 134 matches, and will once again feature the “combined” format, meaning the men’s and women’s tournaments will be held simultaneously (with 56 and 48 pairs, respectively, in the main draw).

The 2024 BNL Italy Major Premier Padel will feature all the top players on the international circuit, including the duo of Arturo Coello and Augustin Tapia, as well as Fernando Belasteguin—who will retire this year—and the women’s pairs Ari Sanches – Paula Josemaria and Delfi Brea – Bea Gonzalez.
The rush for tickets has already begun, but for those who can’t attend the event in person, the Premier Padel Rome will be available to watch via live stream and on TV.

Let’s take a look at all the scheduled matches, the top players, and how to watch the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel live— even from home.

Premier Padel Rome: The Schedule

The schedule for the Premier Padel Roma 2024 will be intense and packed with events. The men’s qualifying rounds will kick off the event on June 15 and 16, followed by the women’s qualifying rounds on June 17 (admission to the qualifying rounds will be free). The men’s main draw will also begin on June 17, while the women’s main draw will start the following day.

The tournament will then continue on June 18 with the first-round matches for both the men’s and women’s draws, with sessions scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. On June 19, the second round for both draws will take place, following the same schedule.
June 20 will be dedicated to the round of 16 for both the men’s and women’s tournaments, with matches scheduled for both the daytime and evening sessions. This stage will see the competition intensify, with the top male and female players facing off for a spot in the quarterfinals, scheduled for June 21. Again, matches will be held in two sessions, beginning at 11:00 a.m. for the daytime session and at 6:00 p.m. for the evening session.

The semifinals of the 2024 Premier Padel Rome will be played on June 22 and will be divided into two sessions: the first two matches—one women’s and one men’s—will begin at 3:00 p.m., while the remaining two—also one women’s and one men’s—will take place at 7:00 p.m.
The finals are scheduled for June 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. The women’s final will kick off the evening, followed by the men’s final. These final matches will determine the champions of the 2024 Premier Padel Roma, bringing to a close an event that, day after day, will offer spectacular action and competition at the highest level.

Side Events of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel

Alongside the main tournament, a variety of side events and activities are also planned for the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel 2024, which will take place at both the Foro Italico and the Due Ponti Sporting Club. These events will offer opportunities for growth, learning, and fun for all participants, further strengthening the bond between padel and the Italian sports community.

From June 20 to 22, the Foro Italico will host the FIP Promises tournament, a competition reserved for players under 18, while on June 22 and 23, the second edition of the Master tournament of the FITP Kinder Joy Of Moving Padel Trophy circuit will take place. At the same time, the final rounds of the Italian Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 Championships, as well as the Tappa de Oro stage of the youth circuit, will be held on the courts of the Due Ponti Sporting Club before moving to the Foro Italico for the concluding rounds.

The BNL Italy Major Premier Padel will give even more opportunities to young people through various initiatives aimed at schools in Lazio: kids will be able to get introduced to padel, try their hand at the game, and even challenge the sport’s top male and female players. The ISF will also organize a course for Padel Coaches, with the goal of training highly qualified instructors who can contribute to the growth of the sport at the national level.

Premier Padel Rome 2024: The Event’s Stars

Among the stars of the 2024 Premier Padel Rome will be all the big names in men’s and women’s international padel, including Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia. The duo, who dominated the 2023 season by winning numerous titles, will return to Rome aiming to repeat their success at the Foro Italico. A major change from last year is the new lineup of top pairs. Alejandro Galán, who ended his partnership with Juan Lebrón, has found a new partner in Federico Chingotto, with whom he has already won three of the first six tournaments of 2024. Juan Lebrón, on the other hand, will take the court alongside Paquito Navarro.

Primier Padel Roma 2024 will also be an unmissable opportunity to see Argentine Fernando Belasteguín in action; together with Juan Tello, he’ll be looking to leave an indelible mark in his final year of competition.
Finally, the brand ambassador for Padel Mi Amor Teo Zapata will play in the Major alongside Javier Barahona, a truly strong and well-established underdog duo that will aim to be one of the tournament’s surprises. Additionally, the brand’s star player, Victor Ruiz, paired with Lucas Bergamini, will start in the round of 16 and try to go all the way.

The women’s tournament will also be of the highest caliber, with Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria battling to maintain their position as world leaders, a title challenged by Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez. The women’s draw will also feature Gemma Triay paired with the promising Claudia Fernandez, and Marta Ortega teamed up with Veronica Virseda—pairings that could hold some surprises and twists. The return of Marta Marrero, who will make her debut in Rome after a maternity leave alongside Aranzazu Osoro, will add even more excitement to the competition.

The BNL Italy Major Premier Padel in Rome will also serve as an important showcase for Italian talent. Among them, the young Flavio Abbate and Giulio Graziotti stand out; Graziotti was the breakout star of 2024, having won five international titles. The Sinicropi–Di Giovanni duo will make their debut on the Premier Padel circuit, while Simone Cremona, a multiple Italian champion, will compete alongside Portugal’s Nuno Deus. The Italian women players will be just as impressive. Carolina Orsi, the current Italian No. 1 and a Top 30 player in the world, will team up with Carolina Navarro, the former Spanish No. 1, with the goal of improving on last year’s result. Giulia Sussarello and Emily Stellato, who have just returned to competition, will also seek to make their mark in the international tournament, buoyed by their recent title on the national Slam by MINI circuit.

Where to Watch Premier Padel Rome

Given the importance of the event, Premier Padel Roma 2024 will receive extensive media coverage. In fact, viewers will be able to watch all the matches on the international circuit live through various channels, including digital terrestrial and satellite TV, as well as via streaming on YouTube and the Red Bull TV OTT channel.

For those who prefer to watch the matches on TV, SuperTennis (available on digital terrestrial TV on channel 64) will broadcast all matches of the BNL Italy Major Premier Padel in Rome free-to-air starting with the first round of the main draw. FITP TV will also use HBBTV technology, available on all Smart TVs, to offer free additional content: viewers will be able to access live coverage of a second match in progress, switching between the various content options available.

Viewers will also be able to watch the event on Sky Sport, which will have exclusive rights to the weekend’s coverage on its satellite channels and will continue to broadcast the Premier Padel through 2026. The renewed agreement includes the broadcast of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, as well as a dedicated segment, “This is padel,” which will offer in-depth analysis, interviews, and exclusive news.

For those who prefer free streaming, Red Bull TV will broadcast live coverage of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals of the BNL Italy Major in Rome, as well as every tournament on the Premier Padel circuit (thanks to an agreement that will last until 2027). Viewers can access the platform via the website or the apps available on Google Play and the App Store.
Another option for watching the Premier Padel Rome online is through the circuit’s official YouTube channel, Premier Padel TV, which will broadcast matches from the round of 32 through the round of 16 at each stop, offering the chance to follow the early stages of the tournament live online—completely free of charge.

UNITY OF PURPOSE

As of February 2024, the Italian apparel brand Padel Mi Amor has added Víctor Ruiz—who ranks among the top 20 in the world according to the FIP rankings—to its roster of ambassadors. We sat down with him to discuss the partnership, which has also led to the creation of a dedicated line, as well as to review past performance and future goals.

Great people for great ambitions. This phrase sums up the partnership between one of the circuit’s top players, Spain’s Víctor Ruiz, and one of the most dynamic and up-and-coming brands on the Italian scene. Thanks to this agreement—along with those involving three other Spanish players we’ve already mentioned (Teo Zapata, Pedro Meléndez, and Carmen Castillón)—the brand has also made its international ambitions clear. These ambitions were cleverly implied from the very beginning, even in the choice of the brand’s name.

We’re talking about Padel Mi Amor, a brand founded in 2021 by Paolo Fina together with his partner—both in business and in life—Alessandra. It’s a brand that many of you have already come to know, both through the content on Padelbiz and through the brand’s presence at major padel events. First and foremost, the two Premier tournaments in Milan (last December) and Rome (mid-June), where Padel Mi Amor will be out in full force, handing out the two signature series jerseys designed by Teo and Víctor. We actually had a great chat with Víctor himself—“on and off the court.”

How did your partnership with Padel Mi Amor come about, and what does it involve?

The partnership came about after my agreement with my previous brand ended, thanks to my agent, who was familiar with the Padel Mi Amor project. Everything went very smoothly from the moment we got in touch, because we clicked right away. We then signed a two-season sponsorship deal, which I’m very happy about. The brand supports me in every way, and it’s also very easy to work with the team because of their great dedication. We’re accomplishing things that we really enjoy and that bring us a lot of satisfaction.

The brand is about to launch an exclusive collection called “Víctor Ruiz por Padel Mi Amor.” What was your contribution to this collaboration?

I’m happy to have my own collection. When we first started talking about the project, we were all clear on our intention to create something that would define us and set us apart from the rest. So we began working on this personal line. Each of us contributed our own vision and ideas, and I’m pleased with the final result. What I find most appealing, aside from the design, is the quality of the garments. I’ve always wanted to work with an Italian clothing brand because they’re the best in the industry.

Why did you initially decide to take up padel?

Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had a great passion for this sport. At first, I didn’t think I’d be able to become a professional. But little by little, the results started coming, and so this sport also became my job.

Tell us a little about this season. Are you satisfied with what you’ve accomplished so far, and what are your goals?

Honestly, I’m not happy with our results so far this season. We’ve had some bad luck with the draw, and we haven’t been up to par in the competitions. We need to improve because we’ve now reached a level where we’re capable of doing much better. I also think that playing all our tournaments on the road has hurt us to some extent, because when you play that way, many other factors—besides the game itself—come into play. Our goal is to stay as close as possible to—or within—the top eight pairs in the world.

How was your experience at the Pro Padel League in Miami?

It was a wonderful experience. Padel is booming in the United States, and this league is investing heavily in bringing the world’s best players there. I’m happy with my team (Flowrida Goats), and we’ll see if we can win something.

Do you think the Premier Padel organization has changed—including in terms of players’ rights—since it incorporated the World Padel Tour?

Without a doubt. Although there are areas where Premier Padel can improve, the leap in quality already evident in the new circuit is enormous. Every aspect of the professional game has improved; they’ve made padel more accessible to everyone, more global… What we are today bears no resemblance to what we were before.

What achievement in your professional career are you most proud of?

If I had to pick one tournament from my career, I’d definitely choose the one we played in Milan in 2022, where we made it to the final against Galán-Lebrón. In that tournament, we played spectacular padel and beat some very strong teams. I think that at that level, we’re capable of beating anyone, but it’s very difficult to maintain.

You’ve been in a relationship with Lucas Bergamini for a few years now. In your opinion, what’s the secret to why you two are still together? In recent years, so many couples have ended up breaking up—why do you think that happens?

We understand each other very well, both on and off the field. And we can’t deny that our results have also helped make our partnership stronger. This time we’ve spent together—even though we’ve faced some challenges—has helped us discover what we’re capable of, and now that things aren’t going well, we know that if we work hard, we’ll be able to get back to where we were before. The instability of partnerships today doesn’t help anyone, because people are looking for immediate results, and that isn’t always possible.

Do you have any other sponsors? How do they support you?

Yes, the main one is Urich, the racquet brand that joined us a few months ago. We’re trying to create the best racquet in the world, and I’m really passionate about this project. Then we have sponsors like Padelmit, Grupo Inglés, Cartago Center, and Bipi. I’m very happy with the companies that have put their faith in me, and I try to repay that trust by staying committed and delivering results.

Starting this year, Padel Mi Amor has added another “top player” to its team. We’re not talking about an athlete, but rather a key figure with extensive experience in the sports and lifestyle markets—it’s no coincidence that he holds the dual roles of general manager and sales director. With a background as sales manager at Oakley, Umbro, Superga, K-Way, and Brekka, Fabio is putting his professionalism and expertise to work for the Milan-based company. With excellent results, judging by the brand’s growing presence in specialty stores and major sports retail chains, including DF Sport Specialist, which features a dedicated section in its new and beautiful store in Lissone. The same goes for the Italian distribution of Royal Padel racquets.

How is the brand’s business strategy evolving?

We are pleased to have quickly built a highly competent sales team in the padel market. The project was well-received, and the sales force immediately recognized its solidity, ambition, and vision, and embraced its goals.

What does the addition of Víctor Ruiz to your roster of ambassadors mean to you?

Our partnership with a global padel icon like Víctor Ruiz has had a huge impact both on the professional circuit and in the market. First of all, we are the first Italian technical sponsor to outfit a top-20 player in the world, and this has inevitably generated a great deal of astonishment and interest. Furthermore, for a young brand like ours, being able to present ourselves to customers through a partnership of this caliber significantly boosts our credibility.

You also recently opened your own section inside DF Sport Specialist in Lissone. Can you tell us a little about it?

Having a wall display featuring Padel Mi Amor products on the opening day of the new flagship store—a project strongly championed by Sergio Longoni—is a source of immense satisfaction for us. It proves that hard work pays off and that projects presented to a serious and highly prestigious partner like DF Sport Specialist find fertile ground. We are particularly proud of this initiative. What’s more, it is generating sales results that, quite frankly, exceed all expectations. And this is just the beginning!
