Premier Padel and the World Padel Tour are joining forces to form a single, major global circuit
2024 is shaping up to be a year of major developments for padel, with the launch of a unified world tour that promises to take the sport to new heights of excellence and popularity. After lengthy negotiations, Premier Padel and the World Padel Tour—which until last year were two separate circuits—have reached an agreement and decided to merge to create a single, major official professional padel circuit, Premier Padel, governedby the International Padel Federation.
The merger will bring several benefits, both for players and fans, thanks in part to the creation of a unified calendar, which will make it easier for all the world’s top players to participate. The new tour will feature 25 tournaments in 18 countries, distributed evenly across the continents. But this won’t be the only change: in addition to the Premier Padel, there will also be a new circuit,the Ultimate Padel Tour, launched with the support of investors from the Damm Group. This circuit is the leading professional circuit in Spain and aims to expand its presence throughout Europe as well.

Premier Padel 2024: What’s New and Future Scenarios
Since its debut in 2022, Premier Padel has quickly captured global attention, establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing sports circuits. During its first year of operation, the tournament attracted more than 500 players, immediately demonstrating its potential to draw top-level talent. In 2023, the circuit’s success was further solidified by the participation of over 110 professional female players. In recent years, Premier Padel’s global reach has become evident, with broadcast agreements reaching over 180 countries worldwide and millions of views on YouTube, making this sport increasingly popular and appreciated globally.
The 2024 Premier Padel season promises to introduce a series of exciting new features that will have a significant impact on the world of padel. The new schedule consists of 25 tournaments: a substantial number that ensures continuity in the sporting spectacle without, however, putting a strain on the players’ endurance and physical condition. The model for the new Premier Padel circuit is similar to thatof the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) and calls for an equitable distribution of tournaments, which will be held in 18 countries across five continents throughout the year (three of which will take place in Italy).
The new schedule aims to further boost the popularity of padel in countries such as Spain and Latin America, but it will also open up new opportunities and possibilities in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia. The goal is to involve players from different countries, taking padel to a global level and expanding the base of fans and players worldwide.
Among the new developments for 2024, the introduction of new rules and game formats stands out, designed to make matches more exciting and accessible to a wider audience. There are also plans to enhance marketing and promotional strategies, with the goal of attracting new sponsors and increasing public interest, as well as adopting advanced technologies to improve the viewing experience for both those attending games in person and those watching from home.
Premier Padel: The Official Schedule
The Premier Padel calendar will kick off on February 26, 2024, with the Riyadh P1 in Saudi Arabia, followed by the Qatar Major (which will take place from March 3 to 8). The tour will then move to Mexico, Venezuela, Brussels, and Andalusia, before returning to South America with stops in Paraguay and Chile (which will host the world tour for the first time). In June, the Premier Padel will arrive in Italy at the Foro Italico in Rome, which will host the second Masters event of the season.
In August, after completing more than half of the events on the schedule (14 out of 25), the tour will take a 28-day summer break, before resuming on September 2 in Madrid. The season will then continue in Europe and the Middle East, with new Premier Padel stops in Rotterdam, Düsseldorf, Sweden, Dubai, and Kuwait City. In October, the P1 tournament in New Giza, Egypt—which was suspended last year due to the conflict between Israel and Palestine—will take place once again.
In November, Mexico will hostthe season’s final Major, while in December, the Milan P1 will wrap up the main part of the season. This will be the final event before the Tour Finals in Barcelona, which will take place from December 18 to 22, 2024, and will see the top pairs compete for the Premier Padel championship trophy.

Ultimate Padel Tour: A New Spanish Professional Circuit Is Launched
The Ultimate Padel Tour (UPT), the new Spanish padel circuit, was launched by a group of investors from the Damm Group (which also promoted the former World Padel Tour) as an alternative to Premier Padel, with the goal of consolidating and promoting professional padel in Spain. The tour presents a unique opportunity not only for professional male and female padel players but also for amateurs, who will have the chance to compete in high-level tournaments.
With 90% of its tournaments taking place in Spain, the Ultimate Padel Tour aims to become a true benchmark at both the national and European levels.
The UPT comprises 16 tournaments, 14 of which are held in Spain and 2 in other European countries, offering a prize pool of approximately 240,000 euros per tournament, divided between the men’s and women’s categories. The circuit will also provide various benefits to players, particularly those ranked outside the top 40 in the world, who will be eligible for travel expense reimbursements and access to various services, such as physical therapy and transportation support. This new approach will attract a larger number of athletes, offering greater opportunities to emerging talents as well. Furthermore, all male and female players will be free to participate in other circuits without the risk of incurring penalties.
UPT tournaments feature 48 pairs, 8 of whom advance from the qualifying rounds. The Master Final is reserved for the top eight pairs of the year, with an additional bonus awarded to the top 20 in the final standings and incentives for players under 21.
The first tournament, held from February 10 to 18, 2024, in La Coruña, saw a surge in entries (129 men’s pairs and 67 women’s pairs), including top-level players such as Lucas Campagnolo and Agustín Gutiérrez, Javi Leal and José García Diestro, Virginia Riera and Sofia Araujo.
Padel Mi Amor ambassadors Victor Ruiz Remedios, Teo Zapata Pizzarro, Pedro Meléndez Amaya, and Carmen Castillón Gámez will participate in both the Premier Padel circuit and the Ultimate Padel Tour in Spain.
